Jason has been a photographer for most of his life. After telling his clients’ stories through their wedding and family photos since 2004, he realized there was also a different kind of story that needed to be told.
After photographing hundreds of weddings, Jason started to notice something. Grandparents [and occasionally even parents] usually quietly keep to themselves during receptions. He decided to start sitting down with them for a little while just to chat. He would ask about their family history, about the couple that had just gotten married, and about what they would tell their children and grandchildren if they had the chance.
He realized very quickly that he wished he could record those conversations, but noisy wedding receptions aren’t the ideal environment for capturing things like that. So an idea started brewing. What if we could capture, not only photos of people, but also their
voices. . .telling those stories?
It’s one thing to have history written down for future generations. It’s another thing completely to have a loved one’s voice captured so that you’ll never forget it. It wasn’t until after his own mother suddenly passed away in 2021 that he realized just how important this really is.
Jason, together with his wife Allison, own and operate Jason Domingues Photography, which is based in Kansas City. They have two grown humans, a few fur babies, and a kick ass stock tank pool in their backyard. Life is good.
